Juvenile/Family Law

The areas of Juvenile law and family law encompass a tremendous amount of information.  For example, a family law issue is a divorce preceding.  A juvenile law issue is the termination of parental rights by the Department of Children and Families.  As you can see, these two legal areas involve the family but in very different ways.  If you are facing a legal issue involving your family, you need an attorney who is knowledgeable of the issues and legal concepts that could impact your family.

The Law Office of John J. Ghidini is familiar with these issues and has experience handling these types of cases.  Please contact us to discuss your case and the possible resolution of your case.

Examples of Juvenile/Family law cases are:

  • Divorce
  • Custody
  • Juvenile Criminal proceedings
  • DCF investigations
  • Termination of Parental Rights
  • Neglect Findings

"Attorney Ghidini assisted me in modifying my custody agreement.  The custody agreement was part of my divorce and I was not happy with the agreement.  Attorney Ghidini listened to my thoughts and achieved a custody agreement for me that I am extremely happy with."

    DID YOU KNOW?

The Department of Children and Families can place a child under a 96 hour emergency hold and then seek an Order of Temporary Custody to maintain custody over the child.  The order of temporary custody can remain in effect as long as  a court deems the transfer of custody appropriate.  The determination of the court is in large part driven by the reports of DCF.

If your family is currently the target of a DCF investigation or if your child has been removed from your home, you need the legal services of an attorney who understands the complexities of this unique legal system.
